Section A – Long case 20 marks

A 27 year old male, Mr V a farmer by occupation, complaints of Episodic Ear discharge for 5 to 10 days, from Right ear since childhood, with foul smelling discharge, greenish in colour, never blood stained, Discharge is caused by common cold and swimming, cured by medications and ear drops.

He has hard of hearing since childhood and is progressive in nature. He has no past history of any medical illness and had an uneventful appendix surgery when he was 10 years of age.

His general physical examination is unremarkable. Otoscopic examination shows this.

1. Describe the clinical finding of this diseases tympanic membrane (Local examination findings)? Please write what you see not copy paste other.

Section B – Short case 10 marks

A 20 year old student Mr A from Akurdi is complaiing of Nose block, Nasal discharge and headache since 1 week. He had fever 5 days back and has lost sense of smell also. There is cough and low grade fever since 1 week. His headache is accompanied by yellowish foul smelling nasal discharge and same coloured expectoration. His endoscopic finding is as follows.

Questions Each question 2 ½ marks

1. Describe the characteristic clinical findings (This was a PG entrance exam question) ? What is your Diagnosis ?
